About us
We turned the audit into software.
CRO Audits began as a hands-on conversion optimization practice. Now the same methodology runs as a product: AI-powered audits with scores you can trust, for every site you manage.
Our story
Built on real experience
CRO Audits is a product by Addison Applications, a web development agency that spent years building and optimizing e-commerce sites. After delivering dozens of manual conversion audits, we noticed two things: the audit was the highest-leverage work we did, and most of it followed a repeatable checklist.
So we encoded that checklist into software. The consultancy is retired; the product is how we do audits now. What used to cost $2,500 and take a week starts free and takes minutes.
What sets it apart
Built on principles, not hunches
-
Deterministic by design
The score isn't an AI's mood. A versioned rubric of objective checks runs against a snapshot of your page, and the score is computed in code. Same unchanged page, same score, every time.
-
Development background
We've built the sites we now audit. Findings come with the technical context your dev team needs, so recommendations are implementable, not aspirational.
-
Specific, not generic
You won't get "improve your CTAs." Every finding names the page, the check that failed, and what to change, prioritized by impact, with the screenshot to prove it.
-
Transparent pricing
Free single-page audits, and one Pro plan at $99/month. No discovery calls, no custom quotes, no upsells.
How we score
Eight categories. Weights that fit the page.
Every audit checks the same eight categories. How much each one counts depends on the type of page: a checkout is weighted differently from a blog post, and the weight profile is versioned with the rubric so scores stay comparable over time.
-
Value & Clarity
Can a visitor tell what this is and why it matters within seconds?
-
Call to Action
Is the next step obvious, visible and worth taking?
-
Trust & Social Proof
Does the page earn belief with real evidence where decisions are made?
-
Friction & Path
How many steps, fields and detours stand between intent and conversion?
-
Content Sufficiency
Does the page answer the questions a visitor has before committing?
-
Visual Hierarchy
Does layout, contrast and spacing guide the eye to what matters?
-
Motivation & Risk
Are the reasons to act, and the reassurance against risk, in place?
-
Mobile & Technical
Does the page work, load and read well on the devices visitors use?
Each category is scored from its checks, then weighted by the page type's profile; the weighted total is your 0–100 score, and every score records the rubric version it was computed with.
Methodology
How an audit runs
- 01
Snapshot
Your page is loaded like a real visit and captured, screenshot and content, so the audit is of exactly what was served.
- 02
Template detection
Full-domain audits crawl your site and pick one representative page per template.
- 03
Rubric checks
A versioned rubric of small, objective conversion checks runs against the snapshot.
- 04
Score in code
AI reads the page; the score is computed from check results in code: deterministic and comparable.
- 05
Funnel context
Connected GA4, Google Ads and Shopify data feeds an AI overview of where your funnel actually leaks.
- 06
Track and alert
Scheduled re-audits track your score over time and alert you when it drops.
